What You’ll Be Doing as a Plumber?
As a Plumber at BPM Contracting Services, you will utilise your skills to complete first and second fix plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs on domestic properties, coordinating closely with the Contract Manager to understand assigned jobs and deliver exceptional customer service through diligent work according to all regulatory standards, maintaining thorough records, and showing high attention to detail to ensure that all plumbing systems pass inspection on the initial try.
For plumber jobs in Swindon, bathroom issues often require swift solutions to restore normal use. A recent job saw multiple toilet troubles fixed.
The tradesman was assigned to investigate reported foul smells and a faulty flush. Testing the cisterns revealed the flush handle was catching in one WC's dual-flush mechanism.
To remedy this, internal movement guides were shortened to allow smooth flushing. This ruled out blockages as the cause of smells.
Further inspection found breathing vents incorrectly installed prior to U-traps, allowing waste gases back through the toilets. It's also suspected basin wastes were wrongly drained into soil stacks.
Remedying vent placements and drainage routes will prevent future bathroom discomfort for customers. Apprentices can gain from learning complex diagnostic and maintenance skills to assess multifaceted problems competently. Providing thorough solutions ensures client satisfaction.
What We’re Looking for in a Plumber
- NVQ 2/3 or equivalent experience in Plumbing.
- Experience with carpentry, roofing or minor glazing would be highly beneficial.
- An up-to-date CSCS card and CRB check are preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong work ethic and positive mindset.
- Drive to be successful.
- Problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
- Valid, clean UK driving licence (a company vehicle is provided for this position).
- Basic Criminal Record Check Clearance is required.
