What You’ll Be Doing as a Multi-Trade Operative?
As a Multi-Trade operative at BPM Contracting Services, your day-to-day jobs will be varied. Utilising your trades experience, you will provide high-quality services and exceptional customer service on domestic and commercial properties. This includes repairs, maintenance, refurbishments, and renovations.
Multi-trade jobs in Swindon often require maintaining outdoor areas. A recent project saw repairs to improve access at a property.
The operative was tasked with inspecting the patio door step. Upon examination, two slabs were discovered loose, likely weather-worn over time.
To remedy the situation, the slabs were carefully lifted away. Underneath, any destabilised material was removed to prep for reinstatement.
The area was re-compacted with fresh layers of hardcore and blinding added for stability. A bed of bonding mortar enabled resetting of the slabs in their rightful places.
All works ensured the stepping stones were now firmly fixed to last. The property’s pedestrian access was restored to a secure standard through skillful repairs.
For newcomers, well-rounded jobs provide experience in multiple competencies. Maintaining safe outdoor areas effectively serves clients through deft handling of paths, steps and more - core abilities for versatile maintenance professionals.
What We’re Looking for in a Multi-Trade Operative
- NVQ 2/3 or equivalent experience in Carpentry, Building, or a similar field.
- Experience with roofing or minor glazing would be highly beneficial.
- An up-to-date CSCS card and CRB check are preferred but not essential.
- Experience with domestic and commercial properties is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong work ethic and positive mindset.
- Drive to be successful.
- Problem solver with a keen attention to detail.
- Valid, clean UK driving licence (a company vehicle is provided for this position).
- Basic Criminal Record Check Clearance is required.
