When it comes to replacing windows, doors or renovating a property with a new extension, everyone wants to use the highest quality products. But even the best quality replacement windows and doors can make a property look and feel tired and unloved if they’re installed poorly.

But this is about more than aesthetics – poor installation can cause significant air leakage, which leads to wasting money on heating bills, making it even more important to employ a professional company that does the job right. One way to ensure you make the right choice is to work with an installer company that is FENSA Registered.

BPM is a long-standing member of FENSA, having earned this coveted industry accreditation  after a tough, microscopic assessment of our installation work. FENSA has awarded us this accreditation after thoroughly evaluating our installers in person, to ensure they fit windows and doors to the highest level.

What is FENSA & what does it do?

FENSA is an acronym for Fenestration Self-Scheme, a register of accredited double-glazing installers  in England and Wales. It’s also regarded as a type of Competent Person Scheme that proves FENSA registered installers are competent and experienced enough to carry out work according to building  regulation standards.

FENSA conducts random inspections of its registered installers to make sure the work is compliant,  energy efficient, and registered with the local council. As well as verifying that every FENSA Approved  Installer’s guarantee is insured

Why choose a FENSA-registered company?

  • They are the only window and door installer companies permitted to issue FENSA certificates.
  • No inspection from your Local Building Control Office is required; the installer ensures both compliance and registration with the local authority.
  • They provide all necessary information about FENSA, offering additional peace of mind and assurance that current standards will be conformed to.

Why FENSA certification is beneficial:

  • The certificate acts as proof that the replacement of doors and windows comply with building regulations and work is registered with the local authority. Both are required by law.
  • No inspection by the Local Building Control Office needed ultimately saving on costs, time and money.
  • The certificate is hugely beneficial when selling your property. As a transferable document, it stays with the property rather than the seller – encouraging the buyer to buy the property.
  • The certificate lasts as long as the products do and serves as evidence of an up to 10-year  insurance-backed guarantee.
  • A lost copy of your certificate can easily be obtained from FENSA’s website.
